Route instructions

[1] Walk down the car park to go to the picnic benches. Walk towards the water.

[2] Turn left at the river and walk along it until you reach the road.

[3] Cross the road and follow the riverside footpath on the other side. Walk until you reach steps that lead you to the railway bridge. Walk up the steps.

[4] Cross the bridge. Shortly after the bridge, there is a path on your left to go down to the river. Watch out as it is a steep path close to the water. Follow this path around for a distance.

[5] Turn along with the path when it follows the River Browney.

[6] There will be a mount in front of you leading to the railway path. Climb up the mount and turn right on the railway path to walk back to the starting point. Cross the bridge and ignore the riverside path that you came.

Lanchester has a vibrant community centre and offers a fitness suite which was opened in 2008. In there, you have the choice of treadmills, cycling machines, rowing machines, cross trainers, multi-gyms and much more! The villagers can also take part in Country Dance, Taekwondo, Pilates and Aerobics. A table tennis club is also available.
