Route instructions

[1] Walk towards the sea and turn right at the T junction and follow the road around the parking area.

[2] Follow the coastal footpath on your right. At the end of the path, turn right and follow the grassy footpath along the coast for a distance.

[3] At the end of the footpath, before a cliff, turn right and go over two stiles to follow the public footpath. Follow this path for a while.

Take extra care as this path is overgrown with brambles. However, it is still possible to go through.

[4] On your left you will see steep steps down. Follow them to go along the Heritage Coast Footpath. Climb up the steep steps on the other side. Follow the way around slightly to your left and walk along until you reach a tarmac road.

Take care as the steps are very steep on both sides and can be wet from the beck.

[5] Walk along the road and go underneath the railway bridge to reach the main road. Turn right at the main road to follow it for a distance to get back to Blackhall Rocks.

[6] Follow the road along the houses of Blackhall Rocks until you reach 'Station Road' on your right. The brown sign 'Beach & Nature Reserve' will also point down this road.

[7] Turn right into 'Station Road' and follow it underneath a railway bridge to reach the starting point.

Blackhall Community Centre was opened in 1988. Since then it provides a lot of activities for the people living in and around the village. They offer a great fitness suite, bowls, and dancing. Just to name a few. Furthermore, on 17th June 2012, the Olympic torch came through Blackhall Colliery and was carried by four different torchbearers.
