Additional 'Point of Interest' information

A. This area of Tow Law is known as Dan's Castle which was the original name of the town.  This was the name of the first coal mine in Tow Law and is though to have been named after an Irish immigrant who kept a shop here.  Before 1840, there was no settlement here but it grew enormously with mines, iron works and coal ovens.
