Route instructions

[1] Leave Roseberry Grange Golf Course and head forwards through the car park.

[2] Towards the left hand side you will see a public bridleway sign which you should follow.

[3] Follow this path with large fence to your left, keep walking to reach the end of the fence and at this point you should turn left and walk once again with the fence to your left.

[4] Follow this path around and just before a building/warehouse in front of you bear left onto the grass to stay on the public footpath. You will walk past the building on your right and after this you should then join the small road to your right.

[5] Head along this road for a short time and when the road bends left heading towards the main road, you should take the path to your right onto grass following the public footpath sign.

[6] Follow this path staying to the left hand side of the golf course, walk for a distance being careful of golf balls and when you come to the next public footpath sign you follow this to the left.

[7] Keep going past a field to your left and then as the field appears to end you should turn left into the field once again following the public footpath.

[8] Walk forwards through the field up a slight incline and once you have reached the top you should follow the public footpath symbol into the next field climbing over a style and entering a field with possible horses present.

[9] Walk through this field, again in a forwards direction. You will come to another four styles whilst walking forwards through several small fields. Each of these fields may contain horses.

[10] After the last style you will come to a main road named 'The Parade'. Be aware this road can get busy and there is a limited view. Once you reach the road cross over forwards and walk towards housing, Cross over so that the road is on your left and then take a right into 'Heathmeads' just after the yellow aged miners homes.

[11] Follow the path through the housing estate with the road to your left and as the road appears to bend left you should stay walking forwards joining the public footpath. To your right you will see Roseberry Comprehensive School.

[12] Keep walking until you reach a small road leading to the farm on the left. At this small road turn right to follow this road back towards housing, the school should still be on your right hand side.

[13] Once you have reached the main road you should cross over and turn right walking past the 'Newfield Inn'. Once you have passed the 'Newfield Inn' you should turn left and walk on the path for a distance with a main road to your right, this road is named 'Pelton Lane'.

[14] once you see the '30 mph' sign you should cross the main road to your right and walk for a very short distance before turning right into 'East Street'.

[15] Walk up 'East Street' passing 'Grange Villa Community Centre' on your right and at the red bin you should bear right and head towards public footpath sign at the bottom of the hill.

[16] Follow this footpath and as the path splits take the path to the left and keep walking forwards. Follow the next public footpath sign which directs you to walk in a forwards direction.

[17] As you keep walking forwards you will after a time come to the fence which was present at the beginning of the walk. Once you reach the fence you should turn left following the public bridleway back to the car park.

The Clubhouse is open to both members and non-members of the golf club so why not pop in for a drink!
